For a long while to some of us, StarHaven's defining principle was balance. It was what had been spoken of as that mindquieting music played, it was what had been demonstrated in the first six days of our being there, and it was what we aspired to even after the space began to suffer from the effects of one person's hunger for power and, ultimately, subsequent shift to abusing others around them. We have done our best to carry forward this concept, and to make it a pillar of Havenism in all of its forms, not to moderate anything in particular but to hold in perspective what would otherwise be a whirlwind of chaotic elements having nothing to do with each other.
Oh, you haven't seen anything spinning off the shelves yet?
You will. It won't be long now.Balance is one of those words that means something different to everyone, and, in our opinion, those meanings aren't explored with nearly the intensity or frequency with which they deserve to be. Prior to StarHaven, we ourselves had not been given the tools to do this, which resulted in us losing many years to intense experiences we couldn't properly encorperate into what we already knew of this world and our place in it. We were unprepared; we will not ask you to be.
For the next 10 minutes, then, consider this.
If balance is the centerpoint between two ends on a spectrum, unlimited in applicability to the realm of physical matters alone, what areas of life can you, the readers, focus on in order to have the best experience of Havenism possible? How can you remember to return to this question as the movement's pillars become clearer to you and you begin to encounter viewpoints that are best described as extreme and, at times, contradictory?
It is time, now, to find answers...
