Of all the things that have stayed with us since StarHaven's collapse, the concept of unity still rings the loudest. The word itself is simple, insofar as what it means, but its place as a foundation of Havenism cannot be overstated. The diversity of viewpoints that will be expressed from here forward Often requires a container of sorts, not to limit the scope of the ideas composing them, but to provide those offering said viewpoints the security of knowing that they will not be abandoned for their unbridled self-expression. Striving for unity in everything we do provides that container.
In Havenism, unity does not mean a lack of disagreement. It means that we strive for peaceful coexistence while each of us holds, within ourselves, the things that make us unique. It is both a goal and the means by which that goal is accomplished. If this project were the building, unity would be its scaffolding.
After the fall of StarHaven, we were not kind at all to those in this system who had taken anything other than pain and anger from our time there. Let this page, and those that come after, serve as an apology for our cruelty. Let it also be the last of Havenism's foundations, so that we can move on.
